That poster is ridiculously epic.
In Biology we listened to Mika and ate lollipops. In Physics…I can’t remember. Chemistry was fun. We mixed stuff with other stuff. I was 5p short to book a place for Sixth Form National Socialist Sports Fun And Recreational Day. I was sad. I may kick a ball at a teacher in my school uniform, then go away.
PS3 Firmware 2.40 comes out in 2 days, and contains…a clock! It also of course has in-game XMB access, some sort of Trophies system, and improvements to the friend system…but it has a clock! The only thing it needs now is the ability to choose a direct point to go to in music, as it has in video. On the PSP you can fast forward music by x10, x30 and x120, but on the PS3 it only has one speed, and I have podcasts on there that are over an hour long - it can take ridiculously long to get to where you want.
The DualShock 3 comes out on Friday, for £39.99. This of course is a ridiculous amount, and as I want a white one anyway (not sold here), I’ll get one off eBay for at least £10 less than that.
Andy Murray is winning his match. It was exciting. At one point he was being pummeled. They stopped because it got dark. Oh, apparently he got through to the quarter finals.
I found an awesome song called Playback Part 2, by someone called Momoe Yamaguchi. Hikki did a cover of it. They’re both awesome.
There’s a trailer for Quantum Of Solace. It’s good.

My DVD arrived! Yay! It’s so awesome. Well, 80% of it is awesome, Morning Musume released some real horrors on their road to perfection.
I hadn’t really paid attention to Dissidia Final Fantasy news until now, mainly because there wasn’t any. But a few days ago a second trailer was released, and it was awesome. It’s a PSP game that’s supposed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of FF, (although will be close to 22nd by the time it comes out) and has heroes and villains from each game fighting Smash Brothers Brawl-style for the fate of the universe. Or something. But seeing Zidane from FFIX wrapping his tail around Tidus’ (FFX) foot, swinging himself towards Kuja (FFIX), whilst Squall (FFVIII) is simultaneously fighting Sephiroth (FFVII) and Ultimecia (FFVIII) is sending crazy pink stuff everywhere in wonderful CGI made me think “Wow, this is awesome!”.

Doctor Who is on tonight. I never miss an episode of Doctor Who, or Torchwood for that matter. I think they’re both awful, sometimes to the point where I accuse them of being the worst thing on television, but occasionally they can be alright. Tonight Davros returns. Davros, for those who don’t know, is the charismatic leader of the Daleks, and I hope he kicks serious ass, at least killing two major characters. I suggest the Dcotor and Donna.
Other Stuff
- Robert Mugabe won. Yay!
- The Manpower is the worst Morning Musume song ever. I’m also sightly dissapointed that Sakura Makai isn’t on the DVD.
- A decent version of Bonnie Pink’s Ring A Bell PV is up.
- Annie and Alicia are back from London. They visited Madam Tussauds. It looks like they’re actually standing next to Morgan Freeman, but what I guess is supposed to be Indiana Jones is absolutely awful.
- I had forgotten about Russia vs. Turkey. Russia will win, of course.
- Whilst all the episodes of KnoxKast are down, I’ve taken to listening to the A-Bomb City Podcast, which itself only last for 50 shows. It’s hosted by two old British guys living in Hiroshima. They analysed one of SMAP’s songs (who can be found adorning the wall of the former Japanese Club class in school for some reason), and found the lyrics “I’m gonna hold you hold you, dont need a shirt.” They then said “SMAP is a quintuplet of guys…and the joke is they can’t sing.” I hate SMAP, but if they’re supposed to be a joke I now think they’re wonderful.
- I’ve visisted the UCAS website for the first time. It was exciting. The process of applying for university actually looks kinda simple, and it’s explained as though you’re an idiot. I may even apply for a UCAS card one day. I’ll be able to access the UCAS online community then. Doesn’t that sound…fun?
- UKCAT FTW.
- Avoid Marks & Spencer pizzas.
Video Of The Day: Dissidia Final Fantasy Trailer 2
The line-up for this year’s Car of the Year has been announced. I’ve crossed out the ones that I think won’t make the final line-up (of about 10 or 12 cars). I guess the Dodge Journey and the Chevrolet HHR are put there for a joke.
Alfa Romeo MiTo
Audi A4
Audi Q5
BMW X6
BMW series 7
Chevrolet HHR
Chrysler Grand Voyager
Citroën Berlingo / Peugeot Partner
Citroën C5
Dacia Sandero
Dodge Journey
Fiat Linea
Ford Fiesta
Ford Kuga
Honda Accord
Honda Jazz
Hyundai H1
Hyundai i10
Hyundai i20
Hyundai i55
Jaguar XF
Jeep Cherokee
Lancia Delta
Mazda6
Mercedes-Benz GLK
Mitsubishi Lancer
Opel Agila / Suzuki Splash
Opel Insignia
Renault Kangoo
Renault Koleos
Renault Mégane
Seat Ibiza
Skoda Superb
Subaru Forester
Toyota Land Cruiser 200
Volkswagen Golf
Volkswagen Scirocco
Volvo XC60
I don’t know whether they mean the new Renault Megane, which has yet to even be unveiled, or the current one. Nobody’s driven the Alfa MiTo yet, and I have no idea what the Hyundai i55 is, unless of course I have no idea what the i20 is, and I thought the i55 was something else. Therefore, my predictions involve some guesswork, but the only car that looks like a winner in that list is the Ford Fiesta. That’s the new Fiesta, by the way. In a close second place, I’d put the Opel (Vauxhall) Insignia, beaten by the fact that it’s bigger, and the CotY committee want to look as if they care about te environment. So, in 5 months time, or whenever they announce the winner, I’ll go back to this post to confirm my rightness. Remember!
I saw the advert for Crisis Core after the football (in which Russia tragically lost). It was awesome. I’ve also now reached the final mission, in which I have lasted no longer than 10 seconds against Minerva, the Goddess who lives in the Lifestream. It really is rather hard.
Other Stuff
- Everyone’s gone off to university open days. I said I’d go to Swansea. Do you have to apply for an open day, or do you just turn up? I don’t actually want to go to Swansea, that was a lie. Or its university.
- Seb wrote a theme song for The Butt Collector. It’s fantastic. And that wasn’t sarcasm, it genuinely is fantastic.
- Turkey vs. Germany was awesome.
- Robert Mugabe FTW.
- Something that annoys me: when people type “this is very addicting.” Surely it’s addictive. I don’t know whether this is actually grammatically correct, but it still makes people sound like retards when they type it.
- “THEY ARE TRYING TO SHUT DOWN FACEBOOK!” - No they’re not, shut up.
- My Morning Musume DVD still hasn’t arrived.
- PSP Firmware 4.01 came out, did nothing.
- I now declare the UK PlayStation Forums to hold the highest concentration of stupid people on the Internet. Even more so than the people who comment on YouTube videos.
- PS3 Firmware 2.40 comes out soon. Why this matters is because it’s one of the biggest updates so far, with in-game XMB access and other stuff which doesn’t really matter. I’m hoping for a clock. To see the time you have to go into about three different menus. I mean…why the bloody hell isn’t there a clock at the top.
- Love Basket has started calling herself Love Basket. She also has a tiny dark dog called Downy, whom she dressed in what looks like a tiny pink nappy. It looks like a tiny bear.
Oh look, here’s a picture of Downy. And I’ve aligned it to the right. Isn’t this fantastic? It has taken a while, but I really think this blog is going places. Big places. Like, super special awesome places, full of milk and honey. Yeah! I’ve been writing this post for about 3 hours now, so I might as well hit publish. I don’t know how this looks on your screen, but it looks pretty awful on mine. The picture is just kinda sitting there…in the middle. Fantastic.
Another day, more Square Enix news. Firstly, and most importantly, the release date for Advent Children Complete may be revealed at their event in August. Seeing as the first release date for the original Advent Children was “Summer 2004″, and eventually turned up over here in Spring 2006, I’d still be wary of any proposed release date for it’s spiritual replacement. Also, the storyline for Versus XIII is now finished, and the development of Agito XIII, known in some parts of the world as “Harry Potter 11: Return To Galanondorf’s Castle”, is currently “tackling difficulties.”
Meanwhile, I’m having trouble on Crisis Core. I’ve done all the mission from 1-10, except a few on 9. I’m up against two of of those annoying floating orange circle things and two of those white things which look like toads, with big tongues and are always falling over. I get beaten to a bloody pulp every time I fight them. The only DMV character I haven’t got 100% on is the Magic Pot. Ha…Magic Pot.
Other Stuff
- I got sat on by a cat. I then went very fast in the passenger seat of a Boxster. It was the first time I’ve actually been a little nervous in a car. I saw one of my nieces. It was fascinating.
- The Penarth Festival is coming up. Oh no!
- The long death march to Summer continues tomorrow with two Physics lessons.
- Italy vs. Spain in the last quarter-final tonight. I want…Italy to win.
- The French Grand Prix continued it’s reputation as being incredibly dull. The British Grand Prix has exactly the same reputation and is on in two weeks.
- I’m watching My Fair Lady now. “Ha…ha…ha…ha.”
- YouTube really don’t have a clue what they’re doing. Barely a week goes by without them changing something. The changes are usually completely pointless or actually make it worse. The latest change, which includes bits to show me what my friends have been doing (having friends on YouTube is a completely pointless from the offset), is utterly baffling. I don’t care if one of my friends has favourited a video. I’d rather see the list of front page videos which YouTube, as a powerful governing body, has selected for me to view.
- Big Brother decided in a bid to liven up the show they would add some generic dull prat to the mix. Not exactly winning me back I’m afraid.
- Last night’s Doctor Who, whilst nothing actually, well, happened, has built some little anticipaton in me for the next episode, and was undeniably better than last week’s shitfest. Even Catherine Tate was mildy likable this time.
Song Of The Day: Tommy heavenly6 - Pray
Song Of The Day II: Kaela Kimura - Happiness!!!
Crisis Core arrived! …again! Awww, I almost regret buying it from America in April. I mean, this set would have completely blown my mind. Sort of. It’s got a hardback box, with the best cover you’ve ever seen (it’s got a big feather!) and the little art book, which is kinda alright too. Sadly, the version of the game doesn’t seem to have any more language options, not even subtitles, and it doesn’t recognise my current save progress. Oh well. Maybe I’ll keep this version of the game in mint condition in a vacuum tube. Wow, I’m becoming like some sort of crazy comic book guy.
Today’s General Studies annoyed me. It was philosophy. We were given a passage about a little girl who would rather some people in Africa die than her cat. We then chose a pointless topic to discuss as a class, something like “Why are we selfish?”. Wow, deep. Questions with no answer, or many complicated pointless answers, annoy me. Discussion of said question, which is therefore also equally pointless, also annoys me. I hate philosophy.
Maria leaves today. I was in a picture with her and Seb. I also took a picture. Both pictures are probably totally awful.
Other Stuff
- I need a new ruler - my Superflex isn’t straight and all it’s markings have been rubbed off. Two qualities you would usually associate with a good ruler.
- Calum’s computer is broken again. Awww.
- It’s Russia vs. someone else tonight, maybe Croatia. I don’t really care.
- I’m watching the Lost finale again, because it’s so awesome. Sawyer apparently says “I have a daughter in Alabama. Tell her I’m sorry.”
- I say apparently far too much.
- Excity FTW.
- A new housemate goes into Big Brother tonight. Will BB reclaim my love? Well, the only way they could do that is to put an absolute nutter in there. Someone who could potentially murder people.
- I “played” football toay.
I just had some awful lemon sorbet with little bits of lemon in. For some strange reason we don’t have lemon ice-cream in this country. I had some chocolate sauce with it, also awful. It tasted nothing like chocolate. I didn’t eat much of it.
The development hell that is everything Square Enix undertake continues today with the news that can be interpreted as “Final Fantasy Versus XIII is on hold so everyone can focus on FFXIII”, although Tetsuya Nomura later denied he meant this, saying that Versus XIII staff merely help out the FFXIII staff when they have “nothing to do.” Nothing…to do.
Oh ho, new news. FFXIII will be at E3, and a release date may be given this year. Also, things will happen at the Tokyo Game Show in October. All this news (although most of it has been terrible) in such a short space of time after months of silence. Even Lightning is shocked. (Did you get the pun? Did you? Huh? You get it?)

HMV claims that my super special awesome Crisis Core FFVII Arty Book Limited Edition Special Set Of Awesomeness was sent in the post two days ago. Yay!
I’m now watching Germany vs. Portugal. It’s exciting.
Other Stuff
- PSP Firmware 4.00’s video speed options are actually good. You can select about 15 speeds to either speed up or slow down the video, including the sound. It doesn’t work on UMD videos though. Another thing 4.00 added is a subtitle option on videos. Does this imply DivX will be added soon? Will I be able to watch Lost wherever I am in the world?
- Some crazy bitch has been thrown out of Big Brother. Apparently.
- Apparently the next Xbox (let’s call it the Xbox 720) may not even be a piece of hardware. Isn’t that what the Xbox 360 is managing to do already? Oooo burn.
- YouTube got fugly. MySpace got prettier, but it fails to hide the cracks in their existence.
- There is apparently a new PS3 Firmware update - 2.36. It adds “nothing.”
Quote Of The Day:
Cloud: Hello Red XIII
Red XIII: Hello.
Tifa: Poor Cloud…still thinks that dog can talk.

…awww.
Other Stuff
- PSP Firmware version 4.00 is out now. It adds an Internet search option to the XMB (cross media bar foo) and you can now slow down or speed up video merely by pressing the up and down buttons.
- Trailers for just about everything Square Enix is currently making will be at their silly event in August, including all of Fabula Nova Crystallis - Final Fantasy XIII, Advent Children Complete, the new Kingdom Hearts games and Dissidia. Of course, they’ll probably all be in a closed mega theatre of some kind, only being released to the public months before the games come out.
- “A new poll suggests the world increasingly prefers dictators to democrats.” - MSN. Yay!
- I want the Netherlands to win Euro 2008.
- I had a one-to-one interview with a year tutor. It was incredible.
- Seb had a nightmare. All I heard of it was “…and there were two dead nuns staring at me!”
- Seb has made a movie. We tried to watch it in the computer rooms, but it didn’t work. He’s apparently going to upload it to YouTube. I can’t wait.
- My L on this keyboard has been worn down to look like an I.
Song Of The Day: Utada Hikaru - Be My Last (Orchestrated)
