{February 27, 2008}   Did The Earth Move For You?

North Korea was on the news. They let the New York Philharmonic Orchestra there. They played for them. They stood for the American anthem. They lighted up their big tower for them. North Korea doesn’t look that bad. I’d love to live there. Even though karaoke, Japanese cars, saying bad stuff and electricity are banned. But hey, they may have some good NK-pop in the future.

A fictional earthquake, made up by the PlayStation Forum community (some even sacrificing their own roofs to make it seems genuine) has taken western Europe by storm, with many people claiming to have experienced an earthquake at around 1AM this morning. Little does the media know they have in fact been had - it’s all a complete farce.

Biology and Chemistry practicals are in less than 3 weeks. Hmmm. It’s a good thing I went to the extra Chemistry session (all four of us). It was really good.

It’s George the Patapon, whom I drew during a study period!

My progress on Patapon is slight. Crossing the desert is depressing - the Patapons just sort of…explode. Getting them in fever mode is hard. And then staying in fever mode to do the rain dance is ridiculously hard.

Isn’t it annoying when you’re 17 and people ask you if you can drive? Jamie agress with this statement, and issued this great one in return: “I tend to respond with “I used to, but I was banned after I ran over your mum…repeatedly.”" Awesome.

  • Knox is releasing an iTunes album. It contains such classics as “BURN UNTIL YOU DIE!” and “There Are Cat Videos On The Internet.”
  • The DualShock3 will be released in America in April. They also get an MGS4 PS3 bundle, which includes MGS4, an 80GB PS3 and a DualShock3.

It’s Yoko Shimomura!

Song Of The Day: Yoko Shimomura - March Caprice

{February 25, 2008}   Post Of Awesomness

Well hello there, and welcome to a very special blog post. Why so? Well, today, Jamie will be our guest writer! Yes, he’ll be here in just a few seconds, writing the paragraph below this one. So…uh…how’s everyone been? Well? Me too. …take it away, Jamie.

Thanks Phil, it’s great to be here… or something. All credit for this fantastic idea has to go to me, because I suggested it. Oh, and in case you were wondering, there is a reason why we’re do this over here rather than at Daily Grumble. Actually, there are 2 such reasons and thus we will call upon the aid of a numerical list…

  1. There’s no way in hell I’d be stupid enough to give my password out to Phil. He, however, gave his up willingly. Let’s just hope I don’t go crazy, deleting his posts one by one.
  2. Phil really didn’t take any convincing. As soon as I’d suggested the idea he literally replied with his password… I wasn’t about to argue.

Oh, and we’ve tried making a joint blog before (Cherry Grumble, anyone?), and it didn’t work out.

Gayphilssaywhat.

What?

Oh, I see, it was a joke. Well, the fact that I value this blog very little is but one of the reasons I gave the password (which begins with the number ‘7′) to Jamie. There were in fact no other reasons. The real fact of the matter is, Jamie is supremely jealous of me and my awesome blog that he’d do anything to get on here. Indeed, the relinquishing of my password may not have been as fully clothed easy as he says…

Maan… I remember when I first started blogging. I was like “Woo! I have a hit!” and blogged about my garden and how Microsoft need to pay more attention to Windows 98. What a dump. Yeah, it hasn’t changed much. Though now I pretend to have knowledge, and tend to fail miserably every time. Nevermind, I’m still beating Spiderpig and Annie’s Blog, for now.

Don’t forget Seb’s blog. Oh wait. Ohh…oooh….it seems you aren’t actually a real professor…it seems you are, in fact…a MEGALOMANIAC. But yeah, Jamie sure does pretend to know a lot of stuff. Like that time he was my phone-a-friend on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Yeah, I lost £15,000 because he couldn’t be man enough to admit he knew nothing about sheds. £15,000.

*cough*

Interesting Fact About Sheds No. 1: My Uncle managed the well-known and extremely successful band - Shed Seven.

Anyways, I’ve just been having a nosey through Phil’s widgets (oo-er) and I came across this suspicious little paragraph. I don’t know if this ever actually appeared on the blog, but heck - it’s still a Jamiexclusive:

“This blog operates an independent neo-conservative body, which in no way associates itself with right-wing extremist groups, food companies who use a lot of salt or beautiful, beautiful communism.”

Make of it what you will.

I demand that my previous comments about the nature of my blog be stricken from the record. Anyway, the sad reality of what we’re doing - that is to say telling each other when we have completed our paragraph over MSN is indeed a sad one. However, that isn’t what’s going on at all! Oh no! We are in fact manipulating the Internet to write what we are thinking! Hmmm hmmm! Yeah… so… I think we should wrap this up.

Oh, I’m being told that this is my last turn. I imagine shortly after posting this I’ll be sent back into the basement… to crawl on broken glass.

Song Of The Day: Back to the Future Theme Song Parody Thing

{February 11, 2008}   Chungking Express…

…stars Faye Wong as a woman who wears glasses and works on a train. It sounds awesome. It has a man who collects cans of pineapple for a month. Fortunately, Quentin Tarantino recognised this as a good film and decided he’d release it over here. It can be found on eBay for the price of a jar of Marmite.

I’ve been playing some new PS3 demos of late. I shall now proceed to review them, in the return of one of this blog’s most popular features - Phil Reviews Crap Demos.

FIFA Street 3 - What the hell is this? The players have all be caricatured. Unfortunately, many of them have been caricatured in exactly the same way as most of the other players, making the art of caricaturing completely pointless. Of course, the one exception is that Peter Crouch is slightly more bendy than everyone else. The controls are awful, graphics not that special, and of the three games I played (as Brazil), I won none.

The Club - Surprisingly not as terrible as I had originally hoped. I got to play as a burly Russian gentleman. I had various guns. I moved quite slowly. Shooting people was hard. I apparently made it to the end of the level. Yay. Don’t buy it, whatever you do.

Devil May Cry 4 - Quite good, yeah. It looked pretty, felt sturdy, had nice gothic music. Fighting got a bit repetitive, and I got lost in a church, but overall an enjoyable experience, full of blue lights.

I also downloaded Conan, Kane & Lynch and the Chinese New Year paint job for a car on MotorStorm. I didn’t play these other demos, because I couldn’t really be bothered, and also becasue one of them is not a demo, but rather a paint job for a game. Ah ha!

Rie fu is releasing an album in the UK! It’s called “Who is Rie fu?” and will go on sale on March 3rd for £10.49. Woo! Thing is…it says March 3rd, and UK, bt I bet it won’t actually be in any shops I go in. It’s a well known fact that British people have shite tastes in music, and also don’t like music not sang in their own language, most probably becasue they have so much awful music sang in that language they can’t do with any more. I can’t see going into HMV and being able to pick up the album and buy it. And when I don’t see it on the shelves, a highly predicatble conversation will emerge:

Phil: Do you have Rie fu’s album?

HMV Employee: Rie who?

Phil: Fu.

HMV Employee: How do you spell his name?

Phil: …she…she’s a woman.

HMV Employee: Oh.

Phil: “R” “I” “E”….”F” “U”

HMV Employee: …you think you’re funny?

Phil: What?

HMV Employee: …what’s the album called?

Phil: Who is Rie fu?

HMV Employee: …get out.
